These subjects make up a full Catholic curriculum; at least, what use to be the basic elementary school curriculum for Catholic schools. Sadly, some of these subjects are being replaced by the Core Common Standards. But, when children received these subjects in a sequential liberal arts curriculum, parents could count on their child receiving a good education.
